How It Works

Every year, Civil Money Penalty (CMP) funds collected from nursing facilities are reinvested into projects that benefit nursing facility residents. States award these funds to projects in four major categories: staff training, resident activities, resident and family councils, and consumer information.

Many CMP applications are stronger — or outright require — letters of support from the facilities that will participate. Collecting those letters one facility at a time is slow for everyone. This site fixes that.

For facilities

Browse the opportunity board to find projects open in your state. Participation is typically free — projects are funded by CMP dollars, not by facilities.
When you find a project your facility wants to join, click “Support this project,” fill in your facility’s information, and review the generated letter of support.
Sign electronically. The signed letter is delivered straight to the project administrator as a PDF, with a copy emailed to you for your records.

For project administrators

List your CMP project on the board and share your project’s direct link with facilities in your outreach.
Facilities complete the letter form in minutes — no chasing Word documents, no lost attachments. Signed letters arrive in your inbox as consistent, application-ready PDFs.

Note: letters generated here are signed electronically by the facility contact who submits them. Some states prefer letters on facility letterhead — every facility also receives a copy of its letter so it can be re-issued on letterhead if a state requests it.
